Self-study: Restructurings in the Grocery Industry

In this program, a panel of professionals with extensive experience in various aspects of grocery transactions and restructurings discusses trends in the industry leading to challenges to certain retailers and suppliers. The presentation includes the outlook for various formats and footprints of grocery retailers and how each type can address current market dynamics. Specific initiatives that can be pursued in the near term to improve profitability are also covered.

  1. Describe major trends in the grocery industry leading to challenges for retailers and suppliers.
  2. Discuss issues and impacts of financial trends evinced in 1) robust mergers and acquisitions activity and 2) increased lending.
