Founder and CEO

Suzanne Koenig is the Founder and CEO of SAK Management Services LLC, a nationally recognized health care management firm and consultancy. Ms. Koenig possesses a highly specialized set of competencies across several segments of the health care industry, including post-acute, senior housing and long-term care, with extensive expertise in the areas of operations improvement, staff education, quality assurance, marketing and census development. As an active owner and operator, Ms. Koenig offers the practical perspective of the evolving challenges and emerging opportunities confronting long-term care providers. She is a passionate advocate for patients and is perhaps the most frequently appointed patient care ombudsman by courts across America.

Ms. Koenig’s notable career achievements include:

· Testified before the Illinois House of Representatives as an industry expert in funding issues facing the long-term care industry;

· Member of the Negotiating Team Task Force in Arizona, who designed and negotiated the contract between the State and Counties for delivery of indigent health services;

· The only non-lawyer and non-Attorney General invited by the National Association of Attorneys General to participate on the “Patient Care Ombudsman” panel addressing the PCO’s interaction with the States in their role as patient care monitor;

· Serve as a member of the Board of Directors of the Summit Healthcare REIT, Inc.;

· Serve as a member of the Board of Directors for the American Bankruptcy Institute;

· Co-Chair of the American Bankruptcy Institute’s (ABI) Health Care Insolvency Committee;

· Elected to the Global Turnaround Management Association Board of Trustees;

· Co-Chair for the Steering Committee of the Midwest Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA);

· Served as a member of the Board of Directors for the School of Social Work at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; and,

· Elected Officer and Director for several long-term care provider associations.

 

Ms. Koenig holds a Master of Science Degree from Spertus College in Chicago, and a Bachelor of Social Work Degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator and a Licensed Social Worker in multiple states. Ms. Koenig is also a Certified Turnaround Practitioner (CTP). She is a frequent speaker for leading healthcare industry associations and business affiliates, where she conducts continuing education and training programs.

Cancellation/Refund Policy

Written cancellation for the conference or any excursions must be received by midnight on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 for a full refund less a $75 cancellation processing fee. No refunds will be granted after May 18, but substitutions will be allowed.
