Justin R. Alberto practices in the areas of corporate restructuring and litigation, with an emphasis on the representation of debtors, creditors' committees and other significant parties in interest. Justin has led engagements in many large and complex commercial restructurings throughout his career. Notable recent company-side engagements include his representations of True Religion, Advantage Rent-a-Car, and Charlotte Russe in their chapter 11 cases. In addition, Justin regularly represents official committees in some of the most complex and high-profile chapter 11 cases in the country, including the creditors' committees in the bankruptcy cases of Purdue Pharma, Mallinckrodt, Insys Therapeutics, J.C. Penny, Francesca’s, Claire's Stores, Bumblebee Tuna, Brookstone, American Apparel, Marsh Supermarkets, and Pacific Sunwear, among others. Justin is routinely called upon by clients for his practical approach to solving complex, bet-the-company issues and for his experience negotiating and litigating issues involving valuation, inter-creditor and allocation disputes, section 363 asset sales and contested confirmations in an array of industries, most notably retail, healthcare, and pharmaceuticals. He is a frequent speaker on issues involving valuation, debtor-in-possession finance and previously as a recurring guest lecturer of Commercial Bankruptcy Practice and Procedure at Temple University Beasley School of Law. In addition to his restructuring practice, Justin is an experienced litigator with trial experience in state and federal courts involving issues of corporate law and distressed commercial situations. Justin is also a certified mediator for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware and is included on the Register of Mediators and Arbitrators maintained by the Court.
