Professional and industry experience
Tim is a senior manager with KPMG’s Washington National Tax corporate tax practice. Tim advises both privately and publicly held clients on a variety of corporate tax matters, including mergers and acquisitions, legal entity rationalizations, troubled company restructurings, and spin-offs and other divestitures. He has significant experience advising on complex distressed company restructurings inside and outside of bankruptcy. Tim also routinely advises clients with respect to the tax consequences of acquisitions and dispositions, including the potential availability and consequences of qualified small business stock status under section 1202.
Prior to joining KPMG, Tim practiced law with a private firm and represented closely held businesses.
Publications and Speaking Engagements
Tim has authored or co-authored several articles for tax publications including the Journal of Corporate Taxation. He has also taught continuing professional education courses for both internal and external audiences. Tim currently serves as the vice-chair for the Washington, DC bar corporate tax committee.
