Brian Grant has almost fifteen years of experience in the turnaround and restructuring field, assisting companies identify and overcome operational and financial challenges. Serving in both interim-management and advisory roles, Mr. Grant has helped companies achieve results through a range of tactics from driving revenue growth to balance sheet restructuring.
Brian has worked in a wide range of industries. Most recently, Mr. Grant served as Chief Financial Officer for Hunter Specialties, Inc., a manufacturer and supplier of hunting accessories that are sold under a number of different proprietary brands, into leading mass merchant and sporting goods retailers and into the distributor channel. In that role Mr. Grant helped to improve year over year EBITDA by $13 million.
Prior to this nine-month engagement, Mr. Grant served as Chief Restructuring Officer of a scrap metal recycling company with operations in the U.S. and Mexico. In that role, Mr. Grant led the company through a dramatic period of distressed commodity prices and repositioned the company for long-term success, ultimately resulting in the sale to a Chinese conglomerate.
In 2014 and 2015, Mr. Grant served as Chief Executive Officer of a private label tire distributor where he designed and implemented a comprehensive corporate turnaround focused on revenue growth and cost cutting, ultimately resulting in two very successful transactions that generated a return to shareholders well beyond expectations.
Previous Experience
Before joining Conway MacKenzie, Inc., Mr. Grant was a Senior Associate in the Recovery & Reorganization group of Grant Thornton, LLP where he specialized in crisis management and corporate restructuring and has particular expertise in the automotive industry. Prior to that, he was a Senior Analyst in the Restructuring and Performance Improvement Group at Stout Risius Ross and an analyst in the middle market lending group of LaSalle Bank.

Mr. Grant has been named to the “40 Under 40” by M&A Advisors, selected as one of the “People to Watch: Business Professionals Making Their Mark” by Turnarounds and Workouts been selected as one of the “People to Watch: Business Professionals Making Their Mark” by Turnarounds and Workouts and awarded “Turnaround of the Year” by M&A Advisors. Mr. Grant is a Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP), a member of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) where he is a board member of the TMA nextGen Atlanta Chapter, and a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI). He received his Bachelor of Science in Finance from the Eli Broad College of Business at Michigan State University.
