Background

George is a Senior Manager in KPMG’s Los Angeles Mergers and Acquisitions Tax practice. Prior to joining the M&A team, he served as a law clerk in private practice and interned with the Tax Division of the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia. George specializes in tax structuring and tax due diligence for financial buyers and their portfolio companies, and strategic acquirers. He also advises large private and public multinational corporations. His recent experience includes advising on public and private tax-free transactions, complex cross-border transactions, and corporate spin-offs.

Professional and industry experience

George advises corporate and private equity clients on a broad range of M&A tax matters, with a focus on domestic and global restructuring implementations, including cross-border reorganizations and spin-offs. He has significant experience conducting buy-side and sell-side tax due diligence and structuring for both domestic and international entities, including U.S. consolidated groups, stand-alone C corporations, and limited liability companies. George also regularly performs Section 382 studies, including ownership change analyses, limitation calculations, and related tax modeling.
