John Lammert is the Executive Vice President of the AT Tax Advisory division of Assessment Technologies, LTD. The AT Tax Advisory division, formerly the combined Complex Property and Bankruptcy Consulting Practices, focuses on assisting and strategizing with varied clients during the different phases of a restructuring engagement.
His background is diverse, having worked in various areas of the real estate industry including appraisal, asset management, investments, capital markets, and development. John has overseen the adjusted liabilities of over $500 million in over 450 jurisdictions nationwide for commercial property taxes, business personal property or more complex projects like restructuring. Some of his most notable projects were for such clients as Dura Automotive, ERG Resources, Exide Technologies, Fairpoint Communications, Bed Bath & Beyond, Big Lots, McDermott International, Superior Silica Sands and Winn-Dixie Stores Inc., to name a few. In addition, he has expanded the groups practice in many other asset types including the automotive leasing business.
Before joining Assessment Technologies, John was an Executive Director of Real Estate Investments at USAA Real Estate Company managing over $350 million in new construction projects. Some of the companies he serviced were INVESCO Funds Group, Southwestern Bell, Federal Express, Kraft Foods, Inc., AmeriServe Foods, Inc., Sweetheart Cup, Barjan Products and USAA. John played an active role in the acquisition of over $160 million of existing office and industrial projects for USAA. While working at USAA, he was responsible for extensive financial analysis for investments in real estate assets, real estate mortgage loans, stock transitions and capital markets activities for the company while serving as the primary point of contact for USAA’s real estate division.
John holds the Appraisal Institute (MAI) and Senior Residential Appraiser (SRA) designations of the Appraisal Institute. John received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Texas State University in 1986. He is an industry partner of the AALA (American Automotive Leasing Association), a member of the TMA (Turnaround Management Association), ABI (American Bankruptcy Institute) and AFLA (Automotive Fleet & Leasing Association.
